“ What an interesting place! I had a great meal here. Get the good salad! It is good!!! Best one I have had all year!!! ”
“ We arrived early for dinner and were seated immediately. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy with plenty of natural light. We ordered bread to start and the grilled Indian corn which were delicious. Two in our group had the ribs which fell off the bone—delicious! I had the wedge salad with shrimp which was very good and filling. We hope to return again with one of our future visits to Charlotte. ”
“ Stopped in for an impromptu dinner at the bar on Monday, 3/17. The bartender was excellent, attentive and checked in periodically without being annoying. Every plate and drink was excellent. I politely told him I need to leave before I run up a very large tab! One last shout out for the Apple and Spice cocktail! ”
“ We had an excellent experience with The Goodyear House. 1. Everyone we encountered from hostess, bartenders, wait staff, etc greeted us with smiles and said hello. We felt very welcomed here. This warm welcome goes a long way in making the experience more enjoyable. 2. They offered us seating inside or outside. Because of this heatwave, we chose indoor seating. It is a cozy dining area which overlooks the outdoor patio seating and bar. They have bay doors which appear to open and close if they wanted to make the space indoor/outdoor. There is a bit of a rustic but modern feel with wood tables and wood accents including the doors and window trim. 3. The menu was definitely unique. I thought we would see a bunch of traditional southern classics but instead we saw a lot of classic food with a modern and delicious twist. We ordered a fry bag, which is what it sounds like, a bag of fries that you season as desired and shake up, corn curls (delicious! Think Mexican street corn with a slightly different flavor profile), marinated shrimp, smoked cashew Mac, and al pastor chicken. Everything was seasoned really well and came out to our table promptly. My family of 4 including 2 smaller children were able to share these dishes and still leave satisfied. 4. Price... It was fairly pricey. Our bill was 100 before tip and did not include any drinks. However, I thought it was a fair trade for the unique and tasty menu options, quality service, and location of the restaurant. 5. Jesse was our waiter. He was excellent. He made sure to check on us regularly, he knew the menu and the ingredients really well, and he was really just good at his job. 6. Parking sucks. It comes with the area. You can't do anything about it. Unless you get lucky just be prepared for it to suck. ”
“ We tried the Goodyear house for the first time yesterday & will definitely be back!! Our server was amazing, she explained the menu & answered all of our questions. The rice balls & the maltagliati were to die for. We sat out on the patio & loved it. ”
“ My husband and I were in the area and decided to finally check The Good Year House off our list. Since we had our dog with us, we were seated outside on their back patio. One thing this restaurant truly excels at is hospitality—a special shoutout to the manager on duty! Every staff member we encountered was incredibly kind and welcoming. We started with the apple and warm cheese dish, which tasted exactly as I had imagined—highly recommend trying it! My husband ordered the Goopy Burger, which was cooked a bit more than he prefers, but he still really enjoyed it and could taste the quality. He swapped his fries for a shaken fry bag with togarashi seasoning, which was unique but delicious. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which were good, but having lived in Charleston, I’ve become a bit picky about the dish. The flavor was great, but I think it could use a little less chile de arbol. Overall, we had a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend this spot. ”
“ Open air with secluded booths, great outdoor space, indoor and outdoor bars. Great FOH staff, but that summer squash, young, tender, the integrity of the texture respected by a light hand in the skillet, the delicate flavor enhanced by the balance of the savory pistou, salty ricotta salata, the burst of basil and finish of the perfectly toasted pine nuts. It was so perfect that I nearly licked the plate. Sous chef Graham Stilwell is such a master of nuancing flavors that come from microseasonal, locally sourced foods. You can taste the life you’re living when you enjoy his creations. Jonas takes great care of you behind the well-stocked bar. ”
“ While visiting my son in Charlotte, we were heading to Noda for dinner. We had one place in mind, and on a whim, decided to stop by the Goodyear House to see what they had to offer. Great decision! There were plenty of good options on the menu and a beautiful setting to enjoy it in. What we ate: The garlic-parm shaken fry bag as an app. We both went with the Flounder as our main dish. Cooked to perfection! Our waiter, Nathan, was a trooper. He was walking around with a boot on his foot, but provided us service like being in the company of a friend. He was friendly and polite. A conversationalist who made us feel so welcomed and made our dining experience inviting. The setting/scenery: There is indoor and outdoor seating. From the entrance, you're not able to see how large the space is. There outdoor area is huge and provides the perfect backdrop for a wedding or other gathering. They have a greenhouse which is there closed off area for gatherings with a play area right behind it. The greenhouse reminded me of a farm-to-table gathering I'd seen before. Overall, The Goodyear House is a 10/10. Great if you're dining alone or with others. Definitely a spot I'll be hitting up more often. ”
